1. What exactly is a "One-Stop?"
One-Stop Centers in Arizona are defined in the following ways:
- Comprehensive Center – The basic services of the above listed partner programs are available on site. This includes co-location of most staff from these programs. Services offered include
- Affiliate Site – Most of the basic services of the required partners are available on site. Also referred to locally as Satellite Locations, these can be facilities operated by one program but with other partner staff on site. Information on all of the above listed partners programs is also available at this location.
2. What are "One-Stop Partners?"
One-Stop Partners are government and private entities whose specialty service relates to employment, life supports and economic self sufficiency. Comprehensive One-Stop locations house 17 or more partners in a single location.
3. What are "Disability Program Navigators (DPN)?"
Tasks of the Disability Program Navigators (DPNs)
- Developing linkages and collaborating on an ongoing basis with employers to facilitate employment for persons with disabilities
- Facilitating the transition of in- or out-of-school youth with disabilities to obtain employment and economic self-sufficiency
- Serving as resources on SSA’s: work incentives/employment support programs through its Work Incentives, Planning, and Assistance (WIPA) program; TTW; Protection and Advocacy systems (P&As); and employment-related demonstration projects
- Serving as resources on programs that impact the ability of persons with disabilities to enter and remain in the workforce
DPNs absolutely do:
- Guide One-Stop staff in helping people with disabilities access complex provisions of programs impacting their ability to gain/retain employment
- Develop partnerships to achieve integrated services, systemic change, and expand the capacity of the One-Stops
- Conduct outreach to agencies/organizations serving people with disabilities
DPNs are not:
- Case Managers
- Front-Line Staff in a One-Stop
- Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors/Specialists
- SSA Community Work Incentive Coordinator (CWIC)
4. What is "On-Site
AT?"
On-Site AT is a listing of accessibility features and technology available in specific One-Stop locations. Products such as screen reading software, speech recognition software and alternative keyboards and mice are listed by product name and version number to allow persons with disabilities to locate sites to match their technology needs.
